Jcom SAM Managed Service provides customers with a fixed price option for managing all hardware and software assets within their estate with no requirement to invest in additional headcount or infrastructure.

SAM Managed Service comprises of:

Installation of Discovery Toolset
Jcom recommends the use of the industry leading Centennial Discovery™ to determine the devices and applications installed within a pre-determined estate. This will provide details of all applications installed, usage patterns, equipment location together with an in-depth hardware inventory.

Deployment
Our fully qualified Centennial technicians will consult with the client and agree the scope and schedule of deployment for Discovery to ensure that there is no impact to on-going business or network utilization. The use of Discovery can be transparent to the user community if required.

Installed Application Analysis
Once Discovery is fully deployed Jcom will advise on all vendors and applications currently installed within the customer estate, and will work with the customer to determine which vendors can/should be included in any reconciliation.

Review of Actual license Position (ALP)
When agreed, Jcom will produce an initial discussion document advising the current ALP for the nominated vendors and advise options to achieve demonstrable license compliancy.

It allows organisations to take advantage of the benefits of Software Asset Management (SAM) and IT Asset Management (ITAM) by providing an end-to-end facility to ensure demonstrable compliance and full visibility of the hardware and software estate.

 

Vendor license Reconciliation
Jcom’s licensing specialists will work with the nominated vendors to provide an accurate overview of all volume licenses purchased and also work with the client to ensure that any other entitlements are accrued.

Review of ‘Best Fit’ Licensing Models
As part of Jcom SAM Managed Service we will ensure that any licenses are being procured using the most advantageous license model from the agreed vendor(s).

Vendor Reporting
As part of many volume license agreements, the customer is obliged to provide consumption reports to the publisher. Our customers will have full access to the current license position at all times - courtesy of the Discovery Web Portal, which enable to review an up-to-date license position for all products.

Process & Policy Implementation
Jcom’s SAM specialists will work for the customer and advise how to implement SAM best practices as defined by ITIL guidelines, which will enable customers to proceed to certifications such as ISO 19770-1 if required.
