Microsoft Licensing Agreements
Our software services and support around Microsoft products drive IT costs down and optimize productivity. We can advise you on the right products and Volume Licensing options for your organisation. Additionally, we negotiate the best discounts available by signing you to an appropriate agreement that enables you to easily track and manage your licenses, reduce compliance risk, and have more time to focus on what's really important - your business.
Understanding Microsoft Volume Licensing
At the most elementary level, Microsoft Volume Licensing program models address organisations in two main categories: companies with more than five but fewer than 250 laptops/desktop PCs and companies with more than 250 laptops/desktop PCs.
For small and medium businesses, the Microsoft Open Programs provide volume discounts for a minimal up front cost. Open Programs offer three purchasing license options:
- Open Value
This option is ideal for organisations looking into standardising their IT infrastructure and maximising investment with Software Assurance. Open Value allows upgrades at any time, without the need to track versions or open new agreements. - Open Value Subscription
This option allows organisations to subscribe to rather than acquire Microsoft product licenses. It gives customers the ability to increase or decrease license count on an annual basis to accommodate changes in desktop PC count. - Open License
Entry level program that allows organisations to start using software immediately on a pay as you go basis.
For medium to large organisations, Microsoft offers four options:
- Enterprise Agreement
This option is for larger organisations that want to standardise IT across the enterprise. Based on a three-year enrollment term, it provides substantial pricing discounts and the advantages of Software Assurance. - Enterprise Subscription Agreement
Organisations subscribe to rather than acquire the software license. It offers the benefits of an Enterprise Agreement at a lower cost, but the right to use the software ends at the end of the three-year agreement term. - Select License
This is for organisations that have mixed software requirements. It is based on a forecast licensing model in which use is measured against the forecast. Select License offers a flexible and cost effective way to make licensing purchases on a pay as you go basis. - Select Plus
Ideal for organisations that want to acquire software licenses and services by business unit while achieving volume purchasing advantages as a single organisation. The agreement never expires and has an optional 36 months of Software Assurance.
